NATES LOG Chapter 3

well guys today i did nothing but work on the case i got the starter button to work on it add on unit and i got the deck back into shapre i think but i got to adjust the clutch some more i dont think i got it tight enough yet lol is slow to enguage the deck but hey im making progress i did discover today that it surges hopefully due to a low oil level and also that one of the rims are on backwards and i swapped out the seat today too and there was alot of work in that deck the brackets were all messed up none of the right pins were in it and i had to make a few shims to take some of the slop out thinking this will be my highest bill to date and oh yeah i put a new airfilter in it too today it didnt have one at all

man if that thing didnt have a air filter then the surging is probly from some foreign object in the carb.

Also, i really like that old pusher.

well guys got home from the auction i spent 385.20 i should be able to make about 450 or 500 off of what i got so not a great deal but good enough but i got a mtd red rider with bagger adn a jd lx173 the red rider looks like an easy one to clean up the lx howers is rough will jerk engine off of it along with its pto and put in on my aws white i got so i can flip that mower if the engine is good it had a wee bit of a fire but the main hood is still good and i know a guy that can use that lol as for the blower i got it for 35 bucks with a set of chains and a filter for a kawi motor is for a 160 165 170 jd ect so im shure i can turn that for profit too but i did get pics of some stuff at the auction that i thought was cool a toasty cut a little allis a real old case the 2 rows of mowers man whish i had a bigger budget than what i got like 1000 would have been nice to play with i could of got a 425 with bad deck and no hood for 500 but too pricey for me it even had aggs already on it man i was upset lol but lots of larger mowers there for some really good prices like 1/2 price and i bid on this cub up to 175 dollars couldnt really afford it but i liked it it sold for 250 dollars im still kicking my self for not buying it but onto the pics the stuff with grass around it is what i took pics of at home and oh yeah the blower came with a set of new chains too

so i finished up that case 222 today and took it back to the guy charged him 75 for it but i did pick up his lx 172 and sold him the hood off of my lx 173 for 50 bucks so yeah me lol only 50 more to go to cover that buy and we serviced that red mtd changed the oil in it need to order a muffler and it starts missing after it gets warm so im thinking coil is going bad in it ill swap it and see and i got the parts for the Rx yesterday so tomorrow that one should be done and up for sale jsut got tot put it back together and list it what else for the day hmm well not much else heres the pics

sorry guys no pics today got the parts in for that lawnboy repair replaced pan gasket vavle cover gasket and lower seal also did the service on it for 50 bucks out the door done paid for and delivered and i got the rx 73 moving tonite all i have to do tomorrow is sharpen the blade on it and reinstall the deck then it gets listed on craigs lol 250 bucks for it got 120 into it and some time

i know i know and im kicking my self it went for 235 bucks

and today i found a 317 runnign condition for 300 i need to get back in the green on my books and soon hate missing deals lol

man i know lol still kicking myself just didnt have the funding oh and i found a pile of stuff a couple hours away good sized parts pile for 350 bucks would take a 25 ft trailer to get it all home another thing i have to pass on

so lets see to start the day off i started working on a push mower i got from a neighbor the rod came out of it and said hello but i scrapped the engine remove the self propelled gears and stuck a 5.5 tec on it runs good now have 17 dollars in the engine and zero in the mower will list it for 35 then i started messing with that 15 hp kohler on the the lx 173 got it to run runs good doestn smoke or knock then i tore the engine off of it and was going to put it on the AWS white until i discovered the front axle joint for side to side pivit is gone so that mower now graduated to scrap and now i get to scrap out the craps man in the shed the lx is taking its place so i get some room in the shed here shortly and i got two reparis int today a murrey rider says it runs for a while then dies off and a ariens tiller with an old 3 hp briggs on it says leaks oil out the front seal so a new seal will be ordered adn thats about it so after i get this murrey fixed then onto scrapping the white the murrey that john wants and the crapsman yeah me heres some pics i also got the mtd runnign to sell so thats a bounus i got 1100 bucks worth of stuff to sell and the guy i fixed the 222 for sent me the pic of it to list for him will list on craigs for 1000 and see how it goes

well johnny i did save a murrey today so feel happy but its a beater too lady said it would die after it run for a while tracked it down to a loose spark plug had to preplace ignition switch and unstick the float first though also servied the thing kinda a waste if u ask me its in sad shape even i couldnt fix this thing the engine seems decent though and a neigbor dropped me off a 22 ich push mower with a 5 hp briggs on it got it runnign and ready to sell and i sold the littel rx73 today yeah me almost in the green again getting close heres the pics

breaking new going after this tomorrow the engine is toast

it doesnt look THAT rough, just maybe not ment to mow anymore

today was fairly productive sold one riding mower and sold my decks for the 210 then i went and bought a craftsman GT series the motor is toast but its all there good lookin unit and a ranch king lt motor is toast also i have a 15 hp kohler for it though so it should be a good mower yet as for the craftsman its got a 25 hp engine in it so i will have to find something a little bit closer in hp for it but its got lots of potential

Nice, Nate - I was considering the Ranch King and looking at the craftsman... did you get them at a good price? Forgive my ignorance, but will the Kohler drive shaft match up in the Ranch King... I thought it had a 20hp Briggs in it to start, but could be wrong...

yeah its still a one inch output shaft it will line up great yet thingk about it its only got to be pretyy clsoe in height diff to work cuse the deck moves up and down and they still work lol thats like alot off center worst case i alter the pulley a litte by adding washers to move it down if my shaft is too short oh yeah man i paid 230 between the two of them it was a decent deal i can still make money by only getting one of them to run for now the other will sit for a while were u the one that put an offer on the craftsman at 125 if so man sorry i beat ya out but it was a last minute deal had the ranch king locked in and was lookin to make it worht the trip there

im back still have a sinus thing i did get some stuff acomplished scrapped out the murrey and the aws white got the engine on the ranch king millenium and it almost ready to go waitign on a deck belt and got a jd 400 in for service needs a rear axle seal and some brakes too so but i so want that machine same guy has a JD 314 with a bad engine how much is that worth do yall think ??? and im down to just the lawn boy for sale pulled the snapper out to the shed tonite since i got a bagger ect for from another mower i got for 10 bucks that has a briggs 5 hp quantum on it oh what else oh yeah i used that lb to mow our culdesac circle doestn work too bad but not well enought for me to keep it and i got a murrey in with a tec in it i think its got a bad pushrod or a bad connecting rod good news the block looks ok so far havent opened it up yet

today they cleared our hill sided so i cut wood most of the day hey free ash cant hurt but the super r 72 lookin like its gonna need a new belt but i did pick up a white top LB today too soreyy no pic today

dont blame you, thats one John Deere I would like to have, the 400. would prefer the 430 but beggers cant be choosers, I would even settle for a good 420. Anything smaller I would just sell. Gotsta have my belly and leg room.

ahh a little bit of catch up today i did a service job on an mtd it needed new belts on it so it got it was in and out in less than two hours made about 35 profit on it and then i bought a mini bike from the guy for 10 bucks so now i got it had to put a rope on it and swap carbs out on it the little thing is fast im almost afraid to open it up its kinda scary had it up to oh say 20 mph already and it will go alot faster than that but i also go a pic of my wood pile i fixed my two stroke snapper today and got it ready for sale and i got a pic of another lawn boy i got and oh yeah is anyone interested in a running clinton engine as soon as i clean out the carb lol paid 5 bucs for that mower and oh what else thats about it today was a decent day but not overly productive
