Well, here we go again....
I figured out why the headlight wire was cut in half today, the wire went right past the tiller belt and therefore was worn in half by the belt.
I decided to add a new section of wire but before I went to the trouble I jumpered the lights for a test, both worked so I added the length of wire. Easy fix ya know....
I turned them on and only one came on..... so I thought mabey the other one wasnt getting good contact through the splice, so I replaced the splice....
This time neither came on, so I cut out even more questionable wire... added a jumper to the lights and after checking the fuse went at it again with the engine running....
Two individual tests later and neither worked so I came inside....
Dad reminded me that they are self grounding lights so the next plan is add a jumper wire between the hood and the frame... I hate more holes.... this was such an easy project... even after I zapped the starter bracket with the fuse wire while checking the fuse...
Between the dremel sander and a little time the black is gone.. but that spot is shinier than the rest.... but the starter still works and the bracket looks better than it did with black zap marks..... I guess nothing can stay new for long....
