newbe with a newly aquired 6008 motomower

hello everyone iv been a member for about a week now and lurking this site . I had come across a motomower on craigslist for $100 in lynnfield ma . description did not state what model or year only said it had an earth plow a harrow and an extra set of wheels . after several discussions with the owner over the phone he said the add was incorrect and would not sell for the advertised price . persistance and alot more $ its now in my truck. it is a 6008 type 101 sn k10003 motomower . the tractor has been garaged its whole life and had not seen light for about 25 years . this tractor is unmolested complete including a brinly hitch . i was even able to salvage the mower deck although the deck is not as nice as the machine . the mowerdeck fell over and scratched his wifes mercedes and out to the yard it went sometime in the 90's i will post some pictures tomorrow before and after its washed . the owner claims he drove it into the garage and just stopped using it . i can see the rearend will need some seals and the tank and carb need to be cleaned . does it sound like this machine is a 1964? it has a black steering wheel and a seat with a backrest . there is a mount for a plow and the extra wheels and snow tread type tires are wrapped with chains . just no snowplow .

Seen that on CL never followed up on it there was another one on there local a few weeks back also!! lets see the pics!!

no its not the one from whitman . this is a 6008 it is complete including the battery coverand original seat . i tried to upload some pics doesnt seem to be working for me

i dont know what im doing wrong i keep selecting different pictures to uplad an end up posting the same picture any ideas ?

here is the 42inch deck the outboard spindles move the center spindle is frozen . there are no holes it also came with a manual for the deck . still trying to figure out how to scan and import the doccuments

the original owner must have rode around with his kid on his lap the paint is pretty worn on either side of the shifter

even the seat is in good condition . just a little dirty!

here is the front mount for what i think to be a snowblower . confusing because seller stated he had a plow on it but the tractor came with some paperwork for setting up a snowblower .

here is a picture of the dash note the yellow paint . it appears the tractor may a yellow base coat before the red was painted . also i need to find a knob for the headlight switch. does anyone know what goes in the center of the steering wheel?

heres a pic of the motor. the rod thats connected to the foot pedal with the turnbuckle is broken . ive put some marvel mystery oil in the cylinder to try to minimize any damage this has not ran in 20+ years . i will be removing the carb to boil it and the tank needs to be cleaned out . the gas smells more like varnish . with any luck she will be up and running ia a few weeks . so this is how i found it .
