| [quote="johnboggs21"]Well I got the old 4 horse briggs out today. I mounted up a fuel tank, and washed the motor off with gas. I made up a gasket for the crankcase too. Luckily the 16 horse will mount up in the same holes that the original 11 horse used. The motor will just BARELY fit without modifying the hood. I think it might be safe to say the murray has more balls than most of KCs tractors now. more balls than the Gilson LOL | |

| Well I tore the carb off to clean it the other today. Man that thing was ripe. Decided to wasnt worth it to try to make it work, it had that stupid fuel shutoff solenoid on it anyways. Sooo i got a brand new carb for 10 bucks today. Slapped her on there, wrapped my rope around the pulley, gave her a nice tug and......................... SHE LIVES!!!!!! had to shut it down after about a minute tho. She's got quite a bark with no exhaust whatsoever lol | |

| Its getting close now. I slapped a straight pipe exhaust on her to quiet it down a wee bit. Drove it around for a few minutes today. Got a starter mounted up, and JB welded that peice in today. All thats really left to do is run the wiring, hook up the governor, and slap the hood back into place and this project will be done.
Then mounting the plow up and fabbing a lift mechanism will be the new project.

| Brought her home today. Unloaded it off the truck and tried spinnin it over with the starter and the motor was locked up, so i grabbed a pipe wrench and was able to turn it over with that. Couldnt get it to start with the starter, but it fired right up when i used a rope around the bottom pulley. Drove it down the driveway, and about halfway back the sorry no good sonofabitch decided to throw a rod!!!
Dont feel like tearin it apart to see what the damage is now............... Probly could put a new rod in it and be ok, but who knows, the crank might be messed up. I think im just gonna part it out and comb craigslist for a whole nother engine...........

| Well the only really important part i swapped onto it of any significance is the carb from the blown up motor. She runs pretty sweet now. I drove her around a little bit and she runs pretty smooth. I need to adjust the exhaust valve a lil bit. I got a nice blue flame coming out my exhaust pipe lol. I dont have any feeler gauges that will work for adjusting valves, so i just have to go by how they feel and how the motor runs. | |

| Well the homemade plow needs some more refinement, so I picked up a ready made plow and made it work for the murray. I dont know what it was from originally, but it didnt take much work to make it work on here. As things sit now: and an engine pic for the hell of it lol | |
