| Well as some of you may already know from the chatbox. The murray is going to be transformed into a gator like thing with tandem axles. If it goes well ill explore the possibility of putting tracks on the back and making it into a halftrack type deal. Going out now to weld on some angle iron as an extension of the frame. Pics to come...... | |

| Frame extension is complete, and i have the axle welded into place. Now i need to locate some wheels and build a box onto it. | |

| Need to weld in some more braces as well. I used my weight to test the frame extension and it lifted the front end off the ground without any bending or breaking. With the extra wheels on back it should do good. just figured on welding in some braces for extra peace of mind. | |

Just to be clear, this something better be a murray, and not something else. | |

| Johnny you are going to need a swing arm of some kind so when you hit a hill the tires don't leave the ground. If they do you will either lose traction or braking ability heres a pic I found but you don't need the live axle on the rear.. [img] [/img][img] [/img] | |

| i know what you mean larry. I intend to make the rear axle powered to avoid that problem. Shouldnt be to hard to rig brakes on the rear axle if i want to. Ive lived this long without brakes though | |

| the 4horse is bolted to a metal plate which is bolted into existing holes. I had to put it on "stilts" so the belt would clear the tie rod underneath. I can get i a pic if ya want. | |

| Well got it together and took her for a test drive today. It seems like things are gonna be pretty good. That extra rearend is not gonna stay dead for long though Dont take much for the driving wheels to end up hangin in the air. Now i just need to get the drive for the extra rearend together and the dump bed set up. Ill get pics soon as i get my camera back. I accidently took grandmas when i was over there Also im lookin to find a new motor for this thing. This old worn out B&S just aint gonna cut it much longer. Lookin for somethin in the 5-7 horse range. If anyone could hook me up with on that would be nice. I like pull starts........ | |
