bolens 650

I just brought this home - not sure if it works.
It's a lot rough - no deck, seat, and a tire that doesn't hold air.
There's some kind of goop on the carb - oozing out of the seam and on the bolts.

Briggs - model, type, code: 142301 502075 292066
Not sure how to break down the code - usually it's yymmddX - where X is the assembly line.

Looks like a fun project

Started looking into the mower to see what it needs:
- no compression - oops - sounds like an air compressor

Pulled the head off - blown head gasket. Two of the head bolts have heli-coils. The bolts won't torque down because they tried to re-use the stripped bolts and the heli-coils are sticking up above the block - not allowing the head to come all the way down.

Hoping new heli-coils and bolts will do the trick.
