That machine is just like it is, a late 1960s Toro. it looks to be a 1966 or 1967 model year. In 1966 Toro bought Springfield (Quick MFG Co.) and continued to build their equipment. There is no info on the Quick MFG Co in Springfield Ohio except a few paperwork I have in my possession. Love to see pictures of the actual machine instead of representational pictures.

It would be a "Suburban 8". In '68 or '69 they redesigned the rear fenders and started making them out of steel. The fibreglass ones look way better.

I seen the steel fender pans and agree the fiberglass ones are cooler, still have round fenders. The Toro in the pics is a representative picture of the one in question. The owner has a 10hp model like mine, but mine has the wrong grill, but still a grill from the family, it's off a Ward's version.

Pretty much ditto to what Casey said. Either a '66 or '67. The one I had was a '66 and had the 10hp Kohler in it. It sure ran good, but I sold it anyway cuz it was my least favorite of the ones I had. Although the round fiberglass fender pan looks cool, it just wasn't very comfortable. That is an interesting conversion on the seat though of that one. And it still has the original grill too, which I believe is also fiberglass. Mine had a cast iron replacement that we believe was off of a Springfield built Wards tractor. They have a Peerless transaxle too...I'm just not sure if the 8hp uses the 3 or 4 speed?

The 8 hp used the old 3 speeds, only the 10 and 12 hp ones had the 4 speed. As for what Evan said about his old Toro, it is in the above picture (he sold his Toro to me). The seat conversion is interesting, but not sure that I like it. I would rather have the good old steel round fenders and square seat pan of the Springfields, but oh well, what ya gonna do? I'm not stocked up to convert mine, I have 2 fiberglass fenderpanned tractors.

It ain't that hard when you have about 5 or 6 of the same spanning about a 8 year gap. general rule is if you have more than one of any brand you have done your research well enough to talk about that brand.

The Toro owner asked a question in the original thread on another forum that I will answer here:

"Davey Crockett" asked:
So how much do you think it is worth? The engine runs perfect and the body is in good shape. All it needs is a nice paint job.
btw, does any one know of a snow plow or snowblower that would fit on it.

As for price I would have to answer in the $250 to $450 dollar range depending on overall condition. Hard to price without a picture of the actual tractor in question though.
As for snowblades an easy one to adapt to the tractor would be a newer MTD one, because the mounting bracket can be removed to make a flat backing plate to bolt to the front implement holes. With a lift handle on the plow already you wouldn't have to make lift linkages unless you wanted to.
