For the cub people

Ok you all know that I am a simplicity A/C man. And I blew up my 14hp kohler . Well I found parts to fix it . But tonight i found a K301 kohler 12hp But it is out of a cub i would say since it is all yellow and has the flat base pan . No this one dont have the drop in it . SO would it work if i drill new holes in my frame and mount it ???And it is the gen/starter and I can turn that over to a 12v starter rite i heard it run and sounds good to .
