| Got offered a M-F10 for $100...new battery, .says it runs, but needs deck bearings...I have to drive 1 hr or so to get it........Sound like a good deal?
Anyone know what kind of bearings go in these decks?

| Picked it up this morning....Much better than expected...Garage kept, little rust......looks like it has been repainted once........The guy said the battery was likely dead, so I didn't bother trying to crank it there....Started right up when I got it home and runs good....heeds a couple of belts and the deck bearings...... Anyone know where the serial numbers are on these?.....And, I will have to look for manuals. | |

| I have gotten a few good deals this year.......but generally you guys in the US get the older stuff cheaper than we seem to. The newer throw away stuff is a dime a dozen up here....with good reason. | |

| I couldn't count how many MF's i've seen with the fly wheel screen missing whats up with guys that throw them away,do they like watching themslves getting their fingers cut off or what? lol, besides that it makes the motor look terrible. It's amazing they do not put something so simple back on!! | Ken....I don't see any holes where a screen would attach........does it attach to the flywheel or the shrouding?.....I have a couple of B&S ones that I may be able to make fit. | |

If I remember right on those poncho there should be 3 holes in the flywheel for it to screw onto, similar setup like the briggs verticals have,,,,KW

| Had a look at the deck bearings today........funny setup...Has a sealed thrust bearing on top and needle bearings on the bottom.....Found a machine shop that can order me some,.....Going to be $100......but, still I think I am ahead.
Looked at the flywheel....There are 3 mounting holes for that screen......
