Well, I just finished up a throttle lever/cable swap on my Case 222 and it amazes me how much gunk is hidden on such a nice machine.
It fought the whole way, but with the battery out and the inpection cover loose I was able to get the old throttle that only stayed put with a stick wedged next to it out, and a better, properly working throttle installed. I fought a headache, a lost screw, tight clearances, and other obstacles to get it done, so I will test it tomorrow, but it seems to work correctly. The old one had a rivet issue in which the rivet was loose in both halves of the throttle lever, so it was doomed when I got it.
Sadly I managed to do away with my nicely hosed off paint job with grease, slime, and other mess on the wrong side of the sheet metal, the outside, so another hosing off is in order this week.
Anyway, thanks to all who helped me fix this machine:
Larry for his suggestions on access points.
John Boggs for his suggestions on where I lost the screw.
And the stick which motivated me to fix the throttle in the first place.
And thank you all for reading my posting.
