computer virus - not tractor related

I know this is not tractor related, but nearly knocked me off the internet.

Just finished rescuing my computer from a really bad "rootkit" virus. I work in the computer industry and not really sure what that means.

Anyway, the symptom I saw - when I clicked on a web link, every 2nd time it went to www.get-search-results.com (DO NOT CLICK THIS LINK).


What worked for me was "Hitmanpro 3.5" from the cnet.com web site. Used their free 30-day evaluation.
Took two tries and several reboots to resolve.


If you see this behaviour, then make sure you get it resolved right away or get someone to help you.

When you say "DO NOT CLICK THIS LINK" it makes me want to click it...... hmmmmm...... not worth it is it?? lol
