I'm looking at buying a single-cylinder wisconsn motor and was wondering if people had an opinion on it. It looks good and am told that it runs (to be seen).

Looks like an AENL or AENLD. Serial number (what I can read) is 41xxxxx.

How would you rate these motors against the likes of Briggs, Tecumseh?

The inevitable question - how much is it worth? More or less than $100?

I have never had one, but many of the older tractors came with them.....I would imagine they stand up quite well.

What HP is it?

Based on what I've found on the internet - I believe it's 9hp.

My ole man had one on a walk behind GT when I was a kid and it ran and ran for ever. Was still running good when he hauled it off.
Back when I worked in a rock quarry as a young lad we had them on water pumps and they would run 10 hours a day with no trouble. If it can take life in a quarry it can't be to bad. rock dust aint much good for engines.
