Figure I should say hello - now that I've made a couple posts.

You can see in my avatar, that I have a 6HP Moto-mower - model 6020.

After getting this one, I found a couple more (1.5?). An 8HP and one that is missing the motor.
When these came home, my wife commented that they are starting to breed - hence the name.

I've made fixing up these mowers father-son (age 10) quality time. He loves to help and uses them to ride around the yard (I don't have to take the garbage to the curb anymore).

Howdy Moto-breeder. Glad to see you here. Motomowers in my area are rare, I may have the only two halves in the state, and I had them imported from Pennsylvannia. lol!

Anyway, enjoy the forum, hope your motomowers come together someday, mine are just sitting around.

Hi Dwayne,

Glad to see you drop by. I know I still need to get that belt size for you...a combination of being sick and busy for the past 2 weeks has prevented me from doing so, so I will try to get that to you as soon as possible. For those of you that haven't seen "Moto-Breeder's" tractors, they are on motomow.com, and keep in mind he has more Moto-Mower's than KW and I! lol!

That statement is false!!! lol!

Think back to that show I came down for last summer in Harrisville. If I recall, we saw a Moto-Mower, even though it was converted to hit-n-miss! lol!

I'm a bit behind by my calculations:
- Evan - 2 working moto-mowers
- Casey - 2 * 1/2 moto-mowers

Exceeds my inventory of 2.5 Wink

I'm looking for a motor for one. Was focused on an 8HP Kohler but that has been hit and miss. Maybe I should broaden the search to include a hit-n-miss?

Evan - no hurry on the belts - I'm running B-width for both: 5L340 and 5L600.
I may change up the primary to a 35" - the belt starts to grab before the brake is fully released.

Talking about belts, I found the belt brake (a metal angle bracket on the idler pulley) was tearing up the belts. I'm trying a piece of rubber hose over the belt brake to see if that will be a bit nicer on the belts.

My two half Motomowers did not include engines. wheels, tires, or one tranny. I did get sheet metal for one of them though. lol!
