Well heres the story on how my murray got to be what it is today.

About 8 years ago dad bought this murray cheap because it was leaking oil. Turns out it was just a loose oil drain plug. Grab a cresent wrench and 2 minutes later, no more oil leak. We used it to mow for a few years after that. Then the motor finally blew up. After that it got sent to my grandpas for the next couple years. We then bought a new MTD Huskee from tractor supply. Well i wanted something just to tug a trailer and kinda beat on and play around with. So i took a 4HP Briggs and Stratton off a murray pushmower and transplanted it into the murray rider, which originally had a B&S 11HP. I used it like that for about a year. Then I got ahold of some tire chains and build a snowplow for it. I used to plow snow for 2 years, but towards the end of the second year the stupid bolt that holds the bracket for the shifter to the transaxle broke off. The murray sat in the weeds for about another year after numerous attempts at repairing the shifter, ranging from rubber bands to failed attempts at drilling out the offending fastener. Then i got the brilliant idea of welding the bracket solid to the transaxle, which has yet to fail. The only downfall to this setup is that when the time comes to change the drive belt the whole transaxle has to be pulled. Again i used it that way for a while, till i got the idea of making a mini dozer out of it. A lack of something good to use for tracks quickly ended that idea. Shortly after that I decided to make it into something like a JD Gator. I had to choose between adding an extra axle, or stretching the frame. I decided to go tandem ,obviously, for a few reasons. So now thats where this murray is in its life right now.

Well I've got 5 GT's currently, so I'll give a brief history of each. The first tractor I got was my 10 hp Moto-Mower. My neighbor decided he wanted to get rid of it, so he gave it to me along with the mower deck and blade. This was probably about 1996 or so, so I was only about 10 years old at the time. My dad helped me tear it apart, and it was just a project that was shelved until last fall when I started working on it again. It should be up and running again in a few weeks. The second tractor I got was my Bolens 1254. My aunt bought the tractor new in '72, and after she died my grandma bought it and gave it to me around 2000 or 2001 I believe. I didn't get any more tractors until I bought the Toro last February off of Craigslist, but it is about to go to a new home very soon. Then I bought my Case off Craigslist in March, and then my other Moto-Mower off ebay in April. And there you have it folks, that is the history of my tractors.

My first tractor was given to me after my father -in-law passed away My wife wanted it as her dad bought it new in 1970 ( I still have all the paper work) I brought it home tore it apart and restored it that was 11 years ago and it needs paint again now. It is a sears custom 10 xl with a deck ,blower. 3ph and a bunch of rear attachments that have been stored in my garage since they came home they are still in great shape. from there I have had 40 or more tractors I do have alot of pics of diff ones but quite a few I didn't take pics of I think there is probably over 20 here now..

If I listed everything on tractors that i've been involved with it would shut the forum down for lack of space.lol.I'll just say my first tractor was a gambles 7hp. stallion twin.My Ma bought it thru gambles with S&H green stamps.I'd love to find one and restore it like the one I had.Picture of it below with my dad on it with my ma standing. If you guys ever see one of these please let me know i'd be soooo happy to get hold of one of these,a very rare little tractor. They did make a different one that was yellow and black with a different brand name on it,it was the exact tractor just a different brand name and color. My dad used to maintain property for a guy in town, he had 14 acres of grass to cut. They had a National Mower, which I got to cut grass with for 50 cents/hr...Big bucks for a 10 year old in 1962. Here is me on it.....

When I retired and moved here, the place came with a JD tractor, but I wanted a National....so I went and found 2....without reels......

Later, I found one with reels, seen here after I did quite a bit of work on it....
