Info on Unico/Rotary Mower Wanted

Hello, I'm new here , so I have a question about an older mower I picked up . Does anyone have ANY information on a Unico/Rotary riding mower ? Made by Root Mfg. Co. Inc. , Baxter Springs , Kansas . Tag reads , Heavy Duty Rotary Mower Model R21-RR ,United C0-Operatives , Inc. Alliance , Ohio . Engine is a virtical Briggs , 8 B-H , 904239 , 580127 , 3.5 HP I think . It has been restored at one time , still looks good . Is a powder blue color , with white/red lettering . Three wheels , round seat . Runs great & fun to ride . Belt drive , four speeds forward , but I cant figure out if it is supposed to have a reverse or not . I added the gas control , mounted below the seat in front because I think a part may be missing for the original setup . Would like to find any type of pics or information on it .[img][/img][img][/img][img][/img]

Well this is the first time I've ever seen one of these, but I have heard of both the Unico and Root companies. I know at some point..probably in the 70's, Unico tractors were sold by Southern States Cooperatives. I've seen several Unico tractors that were built by MTD from that era. I don't really know much about Root, but I've seen pictures of an early 60's or so Root garden tractor over on MTF. I wish I could be of more help.
