| Picked this up this morning....Ford LGT145....They wanted $100, I gave them $75........14.5 Kohler, Hydrastatic......Tires are good, but otherwise looks "purdy ruff"........Will se if I can get it going, see how it runs....maybe restore this one. If not, parts for my LGT100 | |

| If that's "purdy ruff". then most of mine must have been recycle material . Looks to be in pretty decent shape . Nice little machine . Wouldn't mind having one myself . | |

| I agree on the ruff comment, no way would I restore it if it was in that condition, but I have ones in way worse condition that look good to me. | |

| Well.....It is ruff......compared to the other Ford that I got for $50 a while back....with deck, blade and tiller.........that ran.......
This one has some parts missing.....handle to raise deck, battery....wiring looks chopped up......steering is loose.......muffler is broke....part of hood missing .......yada, yada, yada........
.....I hooked booster cables to it today and it cranks over and seems to have compression......
Will tear into it tomorrow....gotta wait for the wife to go to work........I am hiding it from her today.....she said the other day I was getting too much junk around.....she is right, but I can't help it........you would think after 34 years, she would be used to it.......LOL

| Nice lookin' find! I have the toy version of it as seen below. But I am curious about something in the picture. Does that have an upright air intake, or am I just seeing something else in the background? | |

| Looks good I have seen other people do that they say it keeps the intake air cooler it doesn't take in engine heat. | |

| went out today, put a battery in it and it fired right up....it is smoking quite a bit though........maybe running it longer will cure that. You can see in the picture how bad its smoking. Have some questions, if any of you know your Ford....and Kohlers. Anyways, the hydro is low on fluid and is not pulling it well.....What fluid do I use in these?.....Should I change it or just add? Also, what spark plug?....My LGT100 has a Champion H10C in it....This one has a J19LM....... One last thing.....Here are the numbers off the Kohler.......Serial# 6017651.....Model# K321AS.....Spec# 60248D Will those tell me the Year?....I know its from 72-76 somewhere. | the engine comes out as a 1974 the first 2 digits of a 7 number serial number 60-69 make it a 1974 And I always run sea-foam through an engine when I first get it to clean out the carb piston and valves give it a try.. | |

| Can't find that seafoam stuff anywhere.....Any other Canadian members with an idea if its available here?.....
Anyways, put 1/4 bottle of STP oil treatment in it....seems to get better the more I run it.......smokes some on startup and when I idle it for a bit......at running speed, you hardly notice the smoke.....I'm thinking valve seals....Are these hard to replace in these Kohlers?
