Picked up a running 1971 Sears Custom 10XL tonight. Drive it up on the trailer. Battery dead so had to use jump box to start it. I will get some pictures up by the weekend. I am now thinking that to other 2 custom 7 need a new home.

nice I have a 70 custom 10 xl The one that started all this. and I just picked up a 73 (I think) st 10 a week or 2 back.. I like them nice running tractors.

Ok,

replaced the battery today and took her for a spin. Everything went well until, smoke and then what is that smell. It was the mower deck belt was getting hot while running on idle and was trying to engage the deck. Belt needs some type of adjustment, oh wait. I am pulling the deck off this weekend and put my 3 point hitch plate on for some work. Still no pics, but they are coming.
