| Dont do it on a car tire or the like. If its something to be run at high speeds its not good. It weakens the tire and it could blow out. | |

| It's not a good idea guys. Here is the best method for me for small gardern tractors.I take a ratchet strap that you use to tie down tractors/motorcycles etc. I wrap it around the tire and ratchet it down fairly tight.I put just enough air in the tire to seal around the bead.Usually it will hold,I then remove the valve stem to let the air out and the tire will usually stay on the rim,pop off the strap and air the tire up.Sometimes this doesn't work meaning when you let the air out the tire comes back off the bead,if this happens you can put enough air in the tire to hold then release the strap. This is kind of the dangerous part to guys you have to be careful.DO NOT get a lot of pressure in the tire and then release the strap, the thing could pop off and really hurt you !!.I really don't like giving much advice on this subject i'd feel terrible if somone got hurt. This works for me everytime but it can be also dangerous, you really got to be careful,Always lay the tire down so the strap will not fly up.I've never really found the totally safe method to air up tires off the bead. The strap method to me is a lot safer in my opinion but still can be risky be careful if you do this, the totally safest method would be to take it to a tire shop they can figure out the best way to get the tire on and will probably only cost you a few buckjsKW | |

| I just put a tube in them. Sure it costs a little extra but in the long run saves some frustration of leaks around the bead or valve stem. | |

I am with you Ken, I have used the ratchet strap many times and it works well, usually my friends are quite bright enough to get the idea of why i need help sqeezing the tire in, self expanitory to me but I would not make a good teacher. | |

| it definitly works for me ohmar,I do agree with the guys a tube is definitly safer but I will also say that if it's just a tire thats off the bead then i'll do the ratchet strap,I'm really not a cheap skate but buying a tube for a tire that has no problem other than being off the rim is kinda a waste of money to me plus I have to drive 10 miles to get a tube so i'll do the retchet strap lol..KW | |
