| Well, yesterday, at about 6pm I hit a deer and went skiding off the road in the T100 on my way home. The way the road pitched sent me right off and over the hill, about 60 degree slope, and about 30 foot down or so. The deer walked away after riding it out on the front of the truck. Speed going over the hill, about 30 mph. The air bad did deploy in my face when I took out a dead tree somewhere along the way. I walked away though, sore today. The T100 is basicly totaled, so I will probably part it out. I will post the pictures after dinner. | |

| You must have 3.54 gears to run a little over 90 and only turn 2500 rpm. I put many miles on a 7.3 but it had 4.11s and wouldn't get over 75. My then boss and I both called it the "75/35 truck". It would run 75 downhill but only 35 up. We'd put 60,000 miles on per year per truck, and that 7.3 NEVER failed to complete a run and it never hung on a wrecker. The Dodge/Cummins that replaced it spent some quality time with multiple wreckers. | |

| The 7.3 I drove was a 1990. We also had a 1989 Dodge with a 318 gasser and they were dead even on power. The boss and I raced many times with identical loads. The Ford diesel did get one mile per gallon better than the 318 did. Ford got 8 and the Dodge got 7 when they were loaded. They both got 13MPGs when empty. | |
