| Sorry! I think I took too many pain pills today. I'm gonna copy and paste the description from another garden tractor forum that I already had this on so I don't have to do it all over again. Is that being lazy? This started out as a Struck mini dozer. Many years ago the building it was stored in burnt to the ground and about 1981 a fellow rebuilt it to be better than original. Of course the aluminum block 7 horse Techumseh melted away in the fire. The current engine is a 14 horse Kohler. Two way hydraulics have been added and there is a lift on the rear for a ripper, but that tool never materalized. The hood has been added to cover the much larger engine and car size battery for the electric start. I bought it in 2004 from the fellow that rebuilt it and he was 94 years old at the time. His yard was full of neat stuff but that is the only thing he would part with. There were several Sears sickle bar mowers and Sears tractors but they couldn't be bought. About a year and a half later he passed away and his widow called in a local scrapper to clean up the yard. | |

| Very nice...that's a cool lookin' little mini-dozer. Too bad about not being able to buy some of the stuff the guy had...always makes ya sick to see it go to the scrap man. I spy a Gravely in that pic too...don't let Larry see that one! I'm guessing that one is a model 424??? Am I right??? | |

| Thats a 1967 424. It has the belt drive starter/generator which as I understand is a one year only deal. The seat, of course, is for a boat and I will tell you guys it fits the Gravely very nicely. Before that, I had it on a G-14 Bolens and it fits those nicely as well. That makes for a good way to get a better quality, more comfortable seat for less money. I took the swivel off first, drilled a couple of very small holes, then it was a bolt on. | |

| those struck mini dozers are fun little rigs to operate. Grandpas got one, and their pretty capable for their size and rediculously heavy lol. Their a real bitch when it comes time to change belts tho. The main drive bolt broke on his, so you have to pull all the shafts out to change it. Its got him thinkin about converting it all over to hydraulic lol. | |

| I REALLY like that 430!!!! Seeing the traction tires on the front makes me wonder about converting one of those to an actual four wheel drive. The power source is right there on front of the tranny. Figuring the final drive ratio would be a real pain, But building an axle would be realitively straight forward, especially with that nice lathe in the background! Thanx for the pic!! | |
